Come\u00e7ou a aprender por curiosidade, acompanhando os rezadores mais antigos daquela \u00e9poca. No decorrer do tempo, Seu Sab\u00e1 aprendeu a m\u00fasica da ladainha, e logo ap\u00f3s, os rezadores mais experientes o colocaram para fazer uma quarta voz que seria o baixo na ladainha. Muito tempo depois, como o rezador chefe j\u00e1 estava se aposentando de suas pr\u00e1ticas e resolveu deixar outro rezador em seu lugar. Logo, Seu Sab\u00e1 foi o escolhido e foi ensinado a rezar. Sua primeira ladainha a ser tirada foi na festa de S\u00e3o L\u00e1zaro no dia 11 de fevereiro de 2001, quando \u00e9 comemorado a festa do santo.
